Less Boring Asparagus

I've been having steamed asparagus every day with coconut oil, and although it's good, I'm getting a bit bored with it. Today I steamed the asparagus as usual, and while that was going I sauteed some minced garlic in olive oil. Then I added my asparagus into the pan, and seasoned it with nutritional yeast and a generous sprinkling of dried oregano (since oregano's supposed to be great for battling candida). The grapevine has told me that nutritional yeast is okay despite being yeast - if you have information contrary to this, or know anything more about the issue, please let me know!

This dish is a little more interesting with some buckwheat noodles thrown in, but I prefer to go without as my daily asparagus portions are designed to make sure I keep my diet mostly veggie-oriented.

  1. Hello! I'm glad to have discovered your blog--I agree that it is extremely hard to find vegan anti-candida stuff. I was curious if there was a specific source you referenced for this plan...or did you just cull it from a variety of different places?

  2. Hi, thanks for the reply! My main guide for the diet has been the little tiny pamphlet that came with the anti-candida cleanse pills I bought. It's not quite specific enough though, especially as it's designed for omnivores, so I've looked up quite a lot of stuff on the internet. I don't know anyone personally who has done this diet or even knows what it is, so I have to rely on online wisdom. So just to be safe, I'm leaving out a lot of things that some websites insist are okay - like while wheat, barley, rice syrup, etc. Also I make sure to check multiple sites with each query I have so I get a feeling for what the general consensus seems to be. Are you facing a similar path?
